Paediatrics

We support children from early childhood through school age with speech, language, literacy, feeding and social communication needs. We work closely with families, carers and educators to embed strategies into everyday routines.

Adults

We support adults with communication, speech, voice, swallowing and cognitive-communication difficulties, including those associated with stroke, brain injury and neurological conditions, as well as AAC and functional communication needs.

The process

What to expect

Initial appointment

We begin with an assessment - which may include formal assessment, observation, informal assessment or a conversational sample, depending on what is most appropriate for you or your child.

Goal setting and reporting

Together we establish meaningful goals. A written report is provided if requested or required for funding purposes.

Ongoing therapy sessions

Regular individual sessions tailored to your goals. Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes for paediatric clients and 60-90 minutes for AAC, depending on your package and travel requirements.

Progress check-ins

We regularly review therapeutic outcomes to track progress, update goals and ensure therapy remains meaningful and effective.

Packages and pricing

Service packages and pricing

The following packages are available for Speech Pathology services. Hours and pricing are indicative - your Speech Pathologist will confirm the allocation that best suits your needs and available funding.

Speech Pathology Assessment Appointment

From 5 hours

Additional hours may be required depending on the clinical presentation of the participant and the assessments required.

  • Review of referral information and supporting documents
  • Assessment completed with the participant
  • Summary of findings and goals for intervention
  • Travel, follow-up and report writing

This assessment can also be used to provide evidence for a Functional Capacity Assessment (communication portion) and/or other reports.

Ongoing Speech Pathology

Hours allocated as per participant goals and available funding

Frequency and duration of sessions are agreed at the time of the Service Agreement.

Letter to Support Communication Needs

3 hours

May increase or decrease with the complexity of the case.

  • Letter to a Paediatrician, ENT or other specialist
  • Letter to support Education Assistance at school
  • Letter of recommendations based on observations

This allocation is in addition to the observation, session or clinical reasoning time required to inform the letter.

Language Development Centre (LDC) Application

10-15 hours

Additional hours may be required depending on the complexity of the case.

  • Assessment using the CELF-5, RAPT, The Bus Story and a language sample
  • Report writing
  • Application to the LDC school
