Our approach
Skills build on skills.
At Intracare, we use strengths-based and neuroaffirming approaches that recognise each child's unique abilities, interests, and individual needs.
"Every child's tower looks different."
We work collaboratively with children, families, and support networks to help participants build skills, achieve meaningful goals, and experience success in their everyday lives.
Sensory regulation
Understanding their sensory world.
Every child experiences the world differently. Our OTs use standardised Sensory Profile Assessments and develop tailored sensory strategies and sensory diets to support your child's regulation and alertness at home and at school.
Sensory Profile Assessment
Standardised assessment to understand your child's unique sensory processing patterns.
Sensory diet
A tailored plan of sensory strategies and tools to support regulation and alertness throughout the day.
Sensory strategies
Practical tools and techniques for home and school environments.
School support
Recommendations and strategies shared with teachers and support staff.
Fine motor & handwriting
Fine motor & handwriting
From holding a pencil to cutting with scissors, fine motor skills underpin so much of a child's school and everyday life. Our OTs assess and support hand strength, coordination, pencil grip, letter formation and handwriting fluency - using activities that are meaningful and engaging for each child.
Emotional regulation
Big feelings can change like the weather.
Occupational Therapy can help children and families understand regulation, recognise individual needs and develop practical strategies that support participation in everyday life. We take a neuroaffirming, strengths-based approach — supporting children to understand their own nervous system without shame or judgment.
Play & social participation
Play is an occupation too.
Play is how children learn, connect and make sense of the world. Our OTs support play skills, social participation, shared activities and confidence participating with others - recognising that there is no single correct way to play or socialise.
